Junior Web Developer

Junior Web Developer

We are looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our team in the historic centre of York to create, build and maintain software solutions. The Junior Web Developer is involved in all areas of development from design to build to testing and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the building, testing and delivery of website projects for customers against agreed specifications and designs
  • Provide support and maintenance including debugging, fixes, upgrades and improvements to existing customer web and software applications
  • Provide second line support via Support Desk
  • Suggest improvements to software products, as well as development processes
  • Deliver against agreed timescales working with both Agile and Waterfall software methodologies as suited to each project

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • NET MVC, C#
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Agile development processes
  • Visual Studio Online / Azure DevOps

Desirable Technical Skills and Experience

  • Umbraco CMS
  • Agility CMS

General Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year’s commercial experience in website development
  • Relevant computing qualification or degree
  • Experience with website design and development
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude 
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well independently
